Lake of Stars organizers had it's second Children's Future Festival at Capital Hotel....

On Saturday June 19th, Lake of Stars organizers had its second Children’s Future Festival at Sunbird Capital Hotel. Lake of Stars, in association with Timveni and Unicef Malawi, organised an action-packed day of live music, dance, theatre, puppetry, games & toys, poetry, sports, arts & crafts, technology, science, workshops and a whole host of other entertaining and interactive activities at the second Children’s Future Festival. mHub set up a technology tent which allowed the kids to enjoy various activities. The technology tent included a workshop on computer programming and the young participants were trained to develop mobile apps using easy to learn platforms such as Snapp and Scratch. The facilitators on the day were 10 year-old Panashe Jere, who won the TNM Smart Challenge 2016 for his mobile app Talk to Me, Thungei Sichali and Maziko Kachika. The Children’s Future Festival is dedicated to providing child, youth and family-friendly entertainment and educational activities for children of all backgrounds. The festival kicked off at 9am and finished up at 5pm.
