Lilongwe Pitch Night is a platform that seeks to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem that can be sustainable and viable. The platform is based on a concept that is practiced in fast growing economies in Africa such as Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia and South Africa.
It is an initiative that proposes to build an eco-system that contributes to the socio-economic growth of this nation through entrepreneurs and innovators pitching business concepts and ideas to local investors, collaborators, clientele and the general public.
It seeks to offer acceleration programs that provide business tools through partnerships with developmental partners, financial and academic institutions. It equally seeks to engage with different stakeholders from government and the private sector in ways to address challenges within the various sectors, in an attempt to find solutions.
Lilongwe Pitch Night seeks to identify and empower emerging entrepreneurs in a culture of innovative entrepreneurship that creates jobs, locally made products/services in line with the Buy Malawi Strategy that ultimately relate to local and international market linkages, resulting in contribution to Malawi’s socio-economic growth.
Entrepreneurs play an important role in building an ecosystem for the economic growth of a country like Malawi. But while these upcoming entrepreneurs may find themselves attending various events, they need a proper platform where they can pitch their business ideas, network with people and promote their products.
