Graduate Pitch Challenge is an mHub initiative that targets students and fresh graduates to come up with business ideas that solve community problems. This seeks to impart an entrepreneur and innovative mind in the students as well as fresh graduates so as to reduce unemployment levels in Malawi.
The participants are given a chance to pitch their business ideas to a set of judges and stand a chance to win a start up capital as well as an incubation space for 3 months at mHub. The incubation period is there to mentor the young entrepreneurs and further develop their respective business ideas.
The first edition took place in March through April where a total number of 73 partipants took part from Daeyang University, Exploits University, Lilongwe technical College, Malawi Assemblies of God University and fresh graduates from different colleges took part. 11 groups were shortlisted from which 5 groups won and are currently under a 3 months incubation to help their business grow. The 1st winner further won MK500, 000.00, the 2nd winner got MK150, 000.00 and the 3rd got MK100, 000.00 as part of developing their business ideas.
